| Smart
Sensors Automatically Control PlasmaPure
While you Sleep |

PlasmaPure's
sensors are engineered to detect
concentrations of odors (from pets,
infants, cooking) and dust particles
(household dust, pollen, tobacco smoke,
mold spores) in the air. Once the sensors
detect these contaminants, they adjust
the inverter-controlled fan motor accordingly.
The odor sensor is exceptionally sensitive
to cleaning chemicals, formaldehyde,
ammonia, NOx gas, and other smelling
compounds. The microdust sensor, a technical
marvel, is able to detect particles
unseen by the naked eye, including pollen.
The sensor uses an optical system with
a light emitting diode (LED) through
which the presence of tiny airborne
particles are picked up. The concentration
of odors and airborne particles is indicated
on PlasmaPure's control panel.
The three lighted monitors rise and
fall on a scale according to the concentration
levels (POLLEN, MICRODUST, and ODORS).
The lower the light (green), the lower
the concentration level is. As the level
increases, the lights move up the scale
and transition into red colors. If the
unit is in auto mode, it will speed
up to rid the room of contaminants.

The
PLASMA deodorization process instantly
eliminates at the molecular level most
harmful gases such as formaldehyde,
volatile organic compounds, and NOx,
which pass through the HEPA filter.
Within the PLASMA box, six PLASMA electrodes
create a field that breaks down odors
at their molecular level. This process
produces lightning fast deodorization.
The PLASMA deodorization process works
by energizing molecules and accelerating
them with a pulse generator. These molecules
collide with the odor molecules, breaking
them down into carbon dioxide and water
vapor. The activated charcoal filter
then discharges these molecules while
remaining odor molecules are absorbed
into the charcoal. This decomposition
action by the PLASMA process enables
the filter life of the charcoal filter
to be extended for up to five years
under normal operating conditions.*
PLASMA is actually a mixture of electrically
charged particles such as electrons,
ions, and neutral radicals (molecules
with strong oxidation properties). This
method of deodorization is powerful,

HEPA
air filters provide a dry environment
that tightly compresses trapped particles.
HEPA air purifiers generally prevent
bacteria from growing because there
is no moisture (which is necessary to
sustain life) in the HEPA filter cartridge.
The HEPA filter component is basically
an accordion of very fine, paper-like
filter material. The material is loaded
in this accordion or zigzag manner so
that a very large surface area is present
for air to be drawn through by the fan.
HEPA filter cartridges vary in the amount
of time they last. Most competitors'
filters last less than three years under
normal conditions: an indoor environment
without pets, excessive dust, paint
fumes, or excessive cigarette smoke.
PlasmaPure's HEPA filter can
last on constant low speed up to five
years under these conditions. An indicator
light on the PlasmaPure air purifier
will alert you when it is time to replace
the HEPA filter. Owners, however, can
help prolong the life of the HEPA filter
cartridge by vacuuming off the face
of the pre-filter once a month. Persimmon

The
mini-blades on PlasmaPure's sirocco
fan are engineered to produce powerful
yet quiet air distribution. PlasmaPure
model MA-EF503 moves up to 160 CFM (150
CADR, Clean Air Delivery Rate for dust)
and is suitable for rooms up to 233
square feet. The model MA-EF303 moves
up to 106 CFM (100 CADR) and is suitable
for a room up to 155 square feet. The
sound level produced by the fan on MIN
speed is incredibly only 36 dB(A). To
compare, a whisper is only 30 dB(A).
Even on HIGH the sound level is a respectable
53 dB(A). The risk of electrical shock
is greatly minimized by a series of
power disconnect switches located at
the grill, HEPA filter, and charcoal
filter. If any of these components are
removed, the power supply is automatically
shut off, unlike most other units we
tested, which continued running even
with the grill and filters removed.
If airflow is greatly restricted due
to excessive caking of dust on the HEPA
filter or if the unit is left running
while face down on carpet flooring,
the microprocessor's current-watch system
tells the transformer to stop the electrical
current. If power to the unit is interrupted,
the unit returns to its former operating
mode after power is restored. |

are several operating options: Remote
Control, Timer Function, AUTO, or manual
fan speeds (in MIN, LOW, MED, HIGH,
MAX). In AUTO mode smart sensors tell
PlasmaPure when to activate various
fan speeds. The hand-held remote really

across the room. The Timer lets you
tell the unit to turn off after 1, 2,
or 4 hours of time. You can even select
